One song, two languages: Hebrew and English, so every word can be understood and sung along.
After the storms of Psalm 83, Psalm 84 arrives like a deep breath: a song of the sons of Korah on the road that climbs to Jerusalem. No enemies here, no cry out of distress — only one clear longing that fills a person completely. The soul yearns, the heart and flesh sing, and even the sparrow has found a home beside the altar, watched with sweet envy from the road.
The psalm is built as a pilgrim's journey: from the beloved dwellings seen from afar, through the sparrow and swallow who already live there, to the double blessing — the one who sits in the house and the one who only carries the road in his heart. And on the way it passes through the valley of Baca, the dry place of tears, which the walkers themselves turn into a spring.
The verse that gives the song its name and its chorus:
"Blessed are they that dwell in your house: they will be still praising you. Selah"
Blessed — how happy; still praising — praise that never stops. True happiness is not one moment of arrival but the dwelling itself, day after day, in a house that is all song.
