One song, two languages: Hebrew and English, so every word can be understood and sung along.
In the first part Asaph counted the ten nations gathering in the dark. Here he counts defeats: Endor, Oreb and Zeeb, Zebah and Zalmunna — kings who came in strength and left nothing but a line in a list.
From there the psalm turns. Three pictures follow: a wheel the wind rolls, stubble with no weight, a fire taking a forest. Then the real petition — not revenge, but recognition: that they may seek your name.
The verse that gives the song its name and closes its chorus:
"That men may know that you, whose name alone is the LORD, are the most high over all the earth"
Alone means you and no other; over all the earth, not one nation and not one land. The whole part drives toward one sentence — that they may know. Not a prayer for victory, but for truth.
