I Have Set the Lord Always Before Me

Psalm 16 is a psalm of trust, refuge, joy, and closeness to God. King David begins with a simple prayer: guard me, because I have taken refuge in You. From that place of trust, the psalm rises to one of the most well-known verses in Tehillim: keeping the Lord before us always.

This chapter speaks about choosing God as the true portion of life. It rejects false paths, blesses the guidance that comes from the Lord, and ends with the path of life, fullness of joy, and eternal pleasantness at God's right hand.

"I have set the Lord before me always; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."

In simple words: when a person lives with God's presence before him, he receives strength, stability, and peace.
