I Have Set My King Upon Zion

Psalm 2 is a majestic psalm about the nations raging, kings gathering, and God’s eternal rule standing above every human rebellion.

The psalm begins with the question:

"Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot in vain?"

Against all this noise, God declares:

"I have set My King upon Zion, My holy mountain."

This is a psalm of kingship, awe, judgment, and refuge. It teaches that human power is temporary, but God’s rule is eternal. The chapter ends with comfort and hope:

"Blessed are all who take refuge in Him."
