Arise, O Lord; Save Me, My God

Psalm 3 is a psalm of fear, faith, and rescue. King David says this prayer while fleeing from Absalom, his own son, who rebelled against him. David is surrounded by enemies, yet he does not lose his trust in God.

The central cry of the chapter is:

"Arise, O Lord; save me, my God."

This psalm moves from danger to confidence, from many enemies to one true Protector, and from fear to the quiet knowledge that salvation belongs to the Lord.

This chapter is part of the larger journey of this project: to compose, with God’s help, the entire Book of Psalms in one emotional, Jewish, uplifting musical line.
