Blessed Is He Who Understands the Poor

King David praises the person who does not ignore the weak, the poor, the sick, or the brokenhearted, but looks at them with understanding and helps them with care.

The central verse of this part is:

"Blessed is he who understands the poor; in the day of trouble, the Lord will deliver him."

This verse does not speak only about giving money. It speaks about seeing another person deeply, understanding their pain, and helping them in a way that preserves their dignity.

David then describes illness, prayer for healing, and the pain of enemies who speak falsely. Through it all, the psalm reminds us that God sees the truth of the heart.
